BETTERLY WINS VBL NORTH DIVISION COACH OF THE YEAR
The Strasburg postseason award train kept chugging on Monday morning, as the league announced Coach Phil Betterly was named the North Division Coach of the Year!
Coach Betterly and his staff, Dylan Powell and Jimmy Peterson, flawlessly led the Strasburg Express roster all summer.
Under his leadership the Express finished with the best record in the league (31-11 overall), the best record in Strasburg history, and the Lineweaver Cup...the 4th overall for the franchise. This was fueled by a remarkable 17-2 record in the month of July, also the single greatest month in team history.
No stranger to the VBL Coach of the Year award, this is Phil's second time bringing home the hardware. He was also named the COTY in 2013 while leading the Woodstock River Bandits to a 26-17 record, one of their best seasons in team history as well.
